Fappening 3: Apple's Security Holes, 'In The Cloud, Nothing Is Safe,' Strong Passwords, 2-Factor Authentication Prevents Data-Theft
This weekend another round of private photos leaked on the Internet, in line with the 4Chan's warning that a new series of photos would leak on September 27, The three releases of celebrity photos spanned over a month, and reports leading up to the leak said that male actors were afraid that they would be the next victims of the hack. But no leaked photos of male celebs have been supported so far.
For celebrities like Jennifer Lawrence, who had her photos leaked in all three 'Fappening' episodes, as the photos are labelled, the hacked photos have been a tedious process of events, compromising their career and personal lives. Some reports indicate that Jennifer Lawrence might be sacked from the set she's working on now. Celebrities like Jennifer are blaming super tech firm, Apple's security system, the iCloud for the leaks. Although Apple has denied any responsibility for the leaks, analysts say that the third leak in particular points to information having been hacked using iCloud passwords. Meanwhile, a London-based software expert said that he had broken the iCloud password system with 20,000 attempts. And now tech experts are saying that the information shared with Apple six months ago was not taken seriously.
Despite denying any fault with the iCloud, Apple has announced that it is revamping the iCloud security.
Reddit which became popular as a place to fetch news stories from around the world, has also failed to stop its discussion boards and postings from leaking links to the 'Fappening' leaks. In that sense, Reddit and 4Chan are equally responsible for channeling leak photos to viewers. Despite banning threads of nude impages since the intial Fappening attack, users continue to propagate images, because many of the actresses in the Fappening collection have not done nude photo shoots.
Fappening 3 or Fappening Part 3 as the latest photo leaks are dubbed by 4Chan include hundreds of photos according to reports:
Anna Kendrick, Brooke Burns, Cara Delevingne, Briana Evigan, Alexandra Chando, Misty May-Treanor, Kelli Garner, and Lauren O'Neil. Fappening 1 was the first photo hack to be released and included Kaley Cuoco, J Hayden Panettiere, Kate Upton and Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Jessica Brown Findlay, and Jennifer Lawrence. And just last week, Amber Heard, Mary-Kate Olsen, Aubrey Plaza,Vanessa Hudgens, Kim Kardashian, Leelee Sobieski and Hope Solo joined the Fappening collection, ITProPortal reported.
According to ITProPortal.com, Brian Fagioli shared in an article, "In the cloud, nothing is safe." He adds that Apple's beefed up iCloud's security security holes are discovered frequently. Personal accounts can be secured only with strong passwords, two-factor authentication, and other proven practices can decrease the chances of data theft."
