Another ‘Midnight Rider’ Crew Member Charged With Involuntary Manslaughter In Sarah Jones Case

First assistant director Hillary Schwartz has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and criminal trespass in the criminal case involving the death of "Midnight Rider" camera assistant Sarah Jones, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

These are the same charges filed against director Randall Miller and producers Jody Savin and Jay Sedrish, according to Miller and Savin's attorney Don Samuel.

Schwartz reportedly appeared in the Wayne County Superior Court today with her mother by her side. The status conference was attended by all lawyers from those indicted in the case to talk about further discovery, motions, whether cameras would be allowed in the courtroom and other issues.

Involuntary manslaughter reportedly carries a potential sentence of 10 years in prison under Georgia law while criminal trespass carries a potential sentence of 12 months.

Sarah Jones was reportedly killed on the set of "Midnight Rider" in February.

The crew was attempting to film on the Doctortown train trestle without a location permit and placed a metal bed on the live tracks for a dream sequence, according to Deadline. A train reportedly appeared, which led the crew to bolt from the set as the train struck the metal bed.

Several civil suits have reportedly been filed against Miller, Savin, Sedrish and others associated with the film. The star of the Gregg Allman biopic Williams Hurt was reportedly on set when Sarah Jones was killed and has pulled out of the project.

Production for "Midnight Rider" has since been suspended.
