Ha Ji Won spoke about her hit drama "Empress Ki" at a recent fan meeting in Singapore.
The actress who played the title role of the real life empress shared her feelings about the drama and her attractive male co-stars.
Despite playing the girl-disguised-as-a-boy Seungnyang before she becomes empress, Ha Ji Won says that in real life she is not a tomboy. Despite her action skills she describes herself as really feminine.
Her "Empress Ki" co-star Ji Chang Wook told enewsworld that he had not expected her to be so feminine before he met her.
"I thought she would be boyish but she's really feminine and laughs at anything I say," he said.
Her first action sequences took place in the 2003 drama Damo, a full seven years before she played a stuntwoman in the drama "Secret Garden." It was "Damo' that started her love of action roles.
Since then she has learned to ride. She also mastered Kando, a Japanese martial art descended from sword fighting and she can can box.
My ideal female role model is someone who is not fragile, someone who is independent and charismatic," said Ha Ji Won. "I want to keep doing action scenes like Angelina Jolie."
But knowing how to ride did not mean the hours she spent on horseback for scenes in "Empress Ki" were painless. After filming some riding scenes, she was in pain for days.
Still, one of the reasons she said yes to the historical drama was the number of action scenes. She told fans at the meeting that she loved being in a historical drama and that "Empress Ki" was the drama she had been happiest in.
How did she feel about her attractive co-stars? She had never worked with either Joo Jin Mo or Ji Chang Wook before that drama. Fans asked her to pick a scent to describe them.
She compared Joo Jin Mo, who played her royal lover, Wang Yoo, to a "blue ocean" scent. Ji Chang Wook, who played her husband, the Emperor, to a "red sweet flower."
In the drama she did a great job of looking like she was in love with both of them. Her secret, she said, was to stare deeply and lovingly into their eyes.
She's a big fan of the "Transformers" films and mentioned she was eager to visit the Universal Studio set in Singapore to take the Transformers ride. Having just signed with a Hollywood talent agency, does that mean she might one day star in a Transformers film?
With an actress this multitalented, anything is possible.
