FKA Twigs racist abuse stories have gone viral as soon as the news broke out. Apparently, the 26-year-old singer, whose real name is actually Tahliah Barnett, is a recent victim of racist abuse on social media. In fact, the young singer has taken to Twitter to claim that she has been quite overwhelmed with the awful comments that she has been getting in the past weeks.
It turns out that FKA Twigs only started to get the hateful comments when it was officially confirmed that she is dating the 28-year-old "Twilight" actor Robert Pattinson.
She posted on her official Twitter account, "I am genuinely shocked and disgusted at the amount of racism that has been infecting my account the past week. Racism is unacceptable in the real world and it's unacceptable online."
It has been reported by multiple online news outlets just last week that Pattinson has "fallen hard" for his new girlfriend. Several months after the confirmation of his breakup, after a five-year relationship, with his ex-girlfriend "Twilight" co-star Kristen Stewart, news that Pattinson was dating FKA Twigs surfaced all over the Internet.
An anonymous source stated, "Rob is falling hard for Tahliah. He's just enamored with her beauty, creativity, and confidence. He hasn't felt this way about someone since Kristen. This is his girl and Rob is beyond proud to show her off. They became instant friends at first and it blossomed into a romance. He's really taken with her and not afraid to show it."
Apart from the racist abuse that FKA Twigs has been getting of late, she also revealed previously that she has also suffered from a similar type of abuse when she was younger as she was the only mixed-race girl who was enrolled in a certain Catholic school.
She told Dazed and Confused magazine, "Either your hair's different, or the color of your skin, or your features. Half of my life I've had people staring at me because they think I'm funny-looking and ugly."
