Way back in September, Glamour Magazine reported that the "Parent Trap" actress Lindsay Lohan was giving a hint about a "Mean Girls" sequel. The original film was released on April 30, 2004.
The comedy teen film followed the story of Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan), and the a clique known as "Plastics," which consists of members Regina George played by Rachel McAdams, Karen Smith played by Amanda Seyfried, and Janis Ian played by Lizzy Caplan).
"Mean Girls 2" was created as a TV series. It started airing January 23, 2011 on ABC Family. The new lead actress of "Mean Girls 2" is Joanna "Jo" Mitchell (Meaghan Jette Martin).
The follow-up report about "Mean Girls" sequel rumor came from Mirror UK. The publication reported that the "Parent Trap" actress was persuading her co-star "Le Miserable" actress Amanda Seyfried to get original writer of the 2004 flick, Tina Fey, to make a follow-up, 10 years after the original film was released.
Some sources of Mirror said the trio are about to get the go-ahead to give chance to Linday to return into the film industry.
The publication said Lohan has struggled to win big roles after she was released from prison in 2007. Her last film was "Labor Pains" back in 2009.
Lindsay, "Mamma Mia" star Amanda, and Tina Fey reportedly met in New York. According to the publication, the theme of the "Mean Girls" sequel will be "Mean Girls Reunited."
As of the moment, date of filming, target premiere date, and other details are not yet confirmed. Stay tuned on Kdramastars for the next update.
