After her breakup with Jason Derulo, Jordin Sparks of "Left Behind" movie better identifies with her brave single mommy character, as she displays courage in the face of uncertainty in both reel and real life.
According to Hallels, the "Sparkle" actress, whose springboard to stardom was her winning the American Idol, stars alongside Nicholas Cage and Nicky Whelan among others, in the spiritual drama "Left Behind."
Jordin Sparks in "Left Behind" movie plays the role of a young mom who lost her daughter midflight en route to London while she was asleep. Panicked just like the rest of the remaining passengers whose companions or seatmates suddenly went missing, she did her best to stay strong despite the confusion and her overwhelming feelings.
Although Sparks is childless for now, the emotional quandary that beset her character in "Left Behind" must have been somewhat similar to what she went through in her recent breakup with Jason Derulo.
She shared with Hollywood Life her personal views now that she is single. Also, how well she could identify with her character in "Left Behind" following the new challenge she faces right now.
According to Sparks, she was drawn to portraying the emotionally heavy role of Shasta, whose situation is alien to her.
She told Hollywood Life: "In the film she narrows it down. You get kind of the details of what happened and it was interesting. It's going to be different to play this part and that's what drew me to it. Because it's something I haven't done before."
The strength Jordin Sparks in "Left Behind" movie showcased in playing her mommy character is similar to what she shows now that she has called it quits with Derulo. She may be no mommy yet, but the 24-year-old singer-actress stays strong and confident even in the midst of heartbreak.
