Katy Perry will be performing at the half-time show of next year's American football's famed Super Bowl championship. This even is actually one of the most watched TV spectacles in America.

The "Roar" singer did not give any details about the event, but, according to a report from Wall Street Journal last August, Perry had been on a shortlist of potential Super Bowl musicians, which also included Coldplay and Rihanna.

The event will be held in Phoenix, Arizona on February 1st of 2015.

There is absolutely no denying that Katy Perry is certainly one of today's most popular artists and performers. She has 58.1 million followers on Twitter. Also, she has been quite known for her knack of generating some very few sexually suggestive images in her time. The confirmation that Katy Perry will be seen on the Super Bowl stage surely has her fans on their toes and ultimately excited.

Representatives for both the NFL and Katy Perry have not given any comments on the subject yet.

The last Super Bowl event, which featured the Red Hot Chili Pepper and Bruno Mars, were able to reel in a record 111.5 million TV viewers. Such event could definitely be a good thing for a musician's career, both for those who are still trying to start in the business and also for those who have been raking in the money for quite some time now.

Such gig is very coveted, that the NFL, which is actually one of the world's wealthiest professional sports organizations, is rumored to have asked the "Dark Hose" singer to pay for the privilege. However, Katy Perry has poured a bucket of cold water on this idea, telling ESPN last weekend, "I'm not the kind of girl that would pay to play the Super Bowl." At least her fans now know that she has football credibility.
