Actress Lee Min Jung plans to return to the home she shares with her husband actor Lee Byung Hun, say media sources in Korea.
Industry insiders told Sports Seoul that the marriage between the two actors is stronger than ever despite Lee Byung Hun's recent blackmail scandal.
Early in September the actor reported an alleged blackmail attempt to the police. The blackmailers, later identified as GLAM's Dahee and model Lee Ji Yeon, asked the actor for $5 million or they would release video footage of the actor engaged in a sexually explicit conversation. He reported them to the police. The women were charged with blackmail and later admitted to the blackmail attempt. When they appeared in court on Oct. 16 they claimed the actor was involved in a relationship with model Lee Ji Yeon and that they attempted to blackmail him as retaliation for the breakup. The actor said he did not have a relationship with Lee Ji Yeon. He said that he saw them several times socially but decided not to see them any more when he became aware of their financial problems.
While the scandal first made the headlines, Lee Min Jung traveled to Paris and then returned to her parents' home rather than her marital home in Gyeonggido. She did not make any public comment in support of her husband, so the media assumed the marriage was in trouble. The "Cunning Single Lady" actress rarely left the house except to deal with previous contractual obligations.
However, sources told Sports Seoul that the actress plans to return to the home she shares with Lee Byung Hun. According to the unnamed sources, the reason for her absence was that she did not want to deal with the reporters that waited outside her marital home.
The sources also said that the couple have cleared up any misunderstanding and that the marriage is stronger than ever. Lee Min Jung and Lee Byung Hun, known as Korea's "Power Couple" married last year in a lavish wedding ceremony attended by many celebrities.
Lee Byung Hun left for the U.S. on Oct. 20 for Hollywood talks regarding another G.I. Joe film. He appeared in "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" with Bruce Willis. Before he did so he made a public apology, citing the regret he felt about the scandal hurting his wife and family.
According to the source quoted in "Sports Seoul, "As Lee Byung Hun has resumed his activities, Lee Min Jung plans to resume her official schedule."
The sources also said that when he returns from his business trip to the U.S. the couple will reunite.
Lee Ji Yeon and GLAM's Dahee face a second court hearing on Nov. 11.
