Unsavory rumors have been flying about since actress Renee Zellweger made an appearance at the 2014 Elle Women in Hollywood Awards in Beverly Hills on Monday.
Amidst all the rumors that the Oscar winner was suffering from surgery complications and whatnot, the "Bridget Jones' Diary" star decided to speak about her new look and shut down all speculations circulating on Twitter.
Renee Zellweger reportedly stated that the whole conversation about her new 2014 look is "silly" and that she feels the need to address it because "it seems the folks who come digging around for some nefarious truth which doesn't exist won't get off my porch until I answer the door," according to People magazine.
The 45-year-old actress emphasized that she looked different at the 2014 awards ceremony because she's now finally at peace with herself.
"I'm glad folks think I look different! I'm living a different, happy, more fulfilling life, and I'm thrilled that perhaps it shows," stated Zellweger.
She continued, "My friends say that I look peaceful. I am healthy. For a long time I wasn't doing such a good job with that. I took on a schedule that is not realistically sustainable and didn't allow for taking care of myself. Rather than stopping to recalibrate, I kept running until I was depleted and made bad choices about how to conceal the exhaustion. I was aware of the chaos and finally chose different things."
Renee Zellweger, who has gone through quite a bit of changes throughout her career, also noted that the look might come with getting older as well, according to ABC News.
Zellweger also credited her happiness in 2014 to her current relationship with boyfriend Boyle Bramhall.
"I did work that allows for being still, making a home, loving someone, learning new things, growing as a creative person and finally growing into myself," stated Zellweger.
