Teresa and Joe Giudice reportedly received separate jail sentences in a federal fraud case earlier this month.
Now the mother of four will be spending 15 months in prison while her husband is set to serve his 41 month sentence afterwards, the couple's relationship is slowly starting to struggle, according to Us Magazine.
"Teresa and Joe's emotional connection is fading," a family insider told the entertainment magazine.
The source added, "Resentment is creeping in. There is an icy distance."
During their recent interview with Andy Cohen, Joe Giudice was open about putting Teresa Giudice into legal trouble, according to the Daily Mail.
"I just want to apologize that I got you into this mess," Joe Giudice told his wife on the show.
He added, "I don't even know what else to say. If I could take it all back, I would, but I can't. I tried to do whatever I could, but I had no control over that."
There is speculation that Teresa and Joe Giudice's marriage is on the rocks because the father-of-four isn't taking initiative when it comes to caring for his daughters, which will be his full responsibility when his wife is serving her prison sentence.
"The Real Housewives of New Jersey" star reportedly "expects him to step up and learn the girls' schedules. But he hasn't shown interest." If Teresa complains, Joe says she's "nagging," according to the source.
However, despite reports of their rocky marriage, it is most likely that the two will not be getting a divorce.
"Splitting up would cause the kids turmoil. She wouldn't bring them more harm," a friend told Us.
Amidst reports of marriage struggles, Teresa Giudice's request to serve 12 months in a halfway house has reportedly been denied, according to the Associated Press.
