The Killing Floor 2 release date has been allegedly revealed and Tripwire Interactive has hinted that KF2 is Steam OS and Steam Controller ready!

Before we continue make sure to view the teaser trailer for Killing Floor 2.

As you can see the Killing Floor 2 trailer didn't show any Killing Floor 2 gameplay but we've got that covered.

The sequel is set in continental Europe following the outbreak caused by Horzine Biotech's failed experiment. Just one month after the events of the original Killing Floor, civilisation has been brought to its knees by the specimen clones, and the only hope left is a group of civilians and mercenaries. Players will track outbreaks and travel to hot zones to combat them.

Here's what to expect in Killing Floor 2 as was revealed in Tripwire Interactive's press release:

-Visceral Gore - Killing Floor 2 ramps up the gore with a proprietary, high powered persistent blood system bringing new levels of fidelity to the genre. Players will send entrails, severed limbs, and blood flying as they wade through hordes of enemies. But they need to watch out! If caught, enemies will rip them, and their entire party limb from limb

-6 player co-op or solo play - A multitude of varied playable characters await for players to choose from as they enter the fray in online co-op mode or solo mode for those willing to brave the horrific specimens alone

-Terrifying Zeds - New enemies and fan favorites from the original game are back with expanded and smarter artificial intelligence, dishing out powerful attacks, working as a group to weaken the player's party and pushing the challenge level and fear factor to new levels

-Unique Blend Of Weaponry - From modern militaristic assault rifles, brutal improvised makeshift weapons, classic historical guns, and off the wall "Mad Scientist" weapons, Killing Floor 2 has a unique blend of killing tools that will satisfy any gamer

-Expanded Perk System - Perks from the original game have been reimagined with more added to the fold. All perks now progress with meaningful talent choices that amplify different play styles

-Brutal Melee Combat - Killing Floor 2 reinvents melee combat completely. Players now have control over the type of melee attacks they can perform, enabling them to deliver bone-breaking crippling attacks to Zeds

But let's go further into the new Killing Floor 2 gameplay details shall we?

PC Gamer has done a few features on Killing Floor 2 and what we've learned is that, ZED Time has been made more badass! Not only does it slow down time, it goes noir mode, Sim-City style to make things more "epic". Look at the screenshot here to see how it looks.

Melee has been completely reworked for KF2, with light and heavy attacks, combos, and four-way directional swings. Players can now chop off limbs with precision not seen in Killing Floor and the melee system is very much like the system used in Shadow Warrior 2013.

The gunplay has been improved as well, PC Gamer notes that Tripwire Interactive researched a lot on ballistics and usage of real world weapons to make sure that Killing Floor 2 guns are as realistic as possible but they still retain the fun factor of shooting guns in games.

According to Cyberland, The Killing Floor 2 release date is on March 2015 but Tripwire Interactive has allegedly said that they are actively working on the game to see if they can launch the game to an earlier date or at least put the game on Steam Early Access on December.

Cyberland has also reported that Tripwire Interactive has said that the game would work on Steam OS and that compatibility for Steam Controllers are being worked on.

We'll give you more info on Killing Floor 2 gameplay in the future. Stay tuned! Until then here are some more Killing Floor 2 Gameplay screenshots:
