Victoria's Secret has come under fire for their new ad featuring models with the words "the perfect body" written across their unrealistically toned stomaches.
Although the "body" in the advertisement refers to their "Body" line of bras and underwear, women from all around the world have taken offense to the ad, with social media users even sticking their middle fingers up to the advertisement, according to E! News.
"What gives Victoria's Secret the right to say what a 'perfect' body is? Stop body shaming!" wrote Twitter user hb along with a picture of three girls sticking their middle fingers up to the sign.
Three students, Gabriella Kountourides, Laura Ferris and Frances Black, who attend Leeds University created a Change.org petition calling for Victoria's Secret to "apologize for, and amend the irresponsible marketing of [its] new bra range," according to the website Refinery 29.
The petition reportedly has more than 2,000 signatures so far.
"I just think it's a really, really damaging message to send to young women," 22-year-old Frances Black said in an interview with The Telegraph.
The students are reportedly encouraging those who feel similarly about Victoria's Secret's "The Perfect Body" ad to use the #iamperfect hashtag on Twitter to further bring attention to the issue.
Victoria's Secret reportedly had no comment regarding the backlash to their recent campaign.
