Meanwhile, Pacific Rim director Guillermo del Toro has keen interest in placing Constantine TV series lead Matt Ryan in his Justice League Dark movie.
According to reports from ComicBookMovie.com, Del Toro confirmed that he is currently doing the script for Justice League Dark, with Warner Bros. and the director seeing “eye to eye” on the what the movie will be.
The movie will likely based on the same team in the New 52 DC universe as John Constantine will be join by other suprnatural characters such as Etrigan the Demon, Deadman, Swamp Thing, Zatanna, The Floronic Man, and many more.
Del Toro further teased that he wants the Spectre to be part of the movie.
“I would love to have The Spectre in it, because he’s one of the most..absolutely, beyond moral characters in this universe and he does crazy things…but, I’m happy with…they’re doing that with ‘Constantine.’ What I made clear to them is that the TV series will not affect the movie and they said that’s okay. They said you can have independence. Now, if we see the TV series and we can mesh with it or cast the same actor depending on where the movie is going, I would be happy to consider that.”
Lastly, ComicBook.com has reported that John Constantine might be the new Doctor Fate in the show. Doctor Fate's helmet was an easter egg in the show's trailer and leaked pilot episode. The new issue of the Constantine comics titled The New 52 Future End: Constantine sees John wearing the helmet as he becomes the new Doctor Fate.
Constantine TV series will air on October 24, 2014 and it stars Matt Ryan, Lucy Griffiths, Harold Perrineau, and Charles Halford.
