Starbucks has a plan to take over the world and now the company has found the perfect plan to do it.
Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz reportedly revealed on Thursday that the coffee chain will be giving the delivery option in the latter half of 2015 to loyalty-program members in select markets, according to CNN.
"Imagine the ability to create a standing order of Starbucks delivered hot to your desk daily. That's our version of e-commerce on steroids," stated Schultz.
Starbucks customers in Portland, Oregon will reportedly be the first to experience the mobile ordering app that will allow them to order and pay for their beverages ahead of time and skip the line for pickup.
The decision to provide the delivery option might have to do with the coffee giant's failure to meet the revenue estimates predicted on Wall Street, according to the media outlet Elite Daily. The Seattle-based company reportedly experienced a 5 percent rise in global sales in the period that ended September 28, but only made $4.18 billion during the quarter, which was lower than the expected $4.24 billion.
Earnings reportedly met expectations with $587.9 million.
Starbucks fans have already been waiting for Starbucks to deliver long before the company made the decision to come up with the option.
"Starbucks could run the world if they would just offer delivery @Starbucks," wrote Twitter user Cori Martinez.
Fellow social media user Brandon Sierra added, "I wish that Starbucks had delivery. Happy Monday All!"
