Some Starbucks insiders connected to the coffee chain said the delivery service will work in close cooperation with its mobile app, once it (delivery) commence.

The Starbucks USA delivery news featured CEO, Howard Schultz, delivering this message intended for the public to know:

"Imagine the ability to create a standing order of Starbucks delivered hot or iced to your desk daily," said Schultz during a conference call following the coffee giant's third quarter earnings report. "That's our version of e-commerce ... on steroids!"

A Boston University professor, Christopher Mueller had this to say about Starbucks contemplated business venture:

Delivery breaks the bond between the customer and the Starbuck's 'Third Place' (concept),"

"Maybe sitting at my desk lost in a Proustian reverie with my coffee is good enough, but the experience is certainly not the same."

Bob Goldin, an executive at Technomic, has said should this new business plan pushes through, delivery services will angle more towards the theme of catering rather than the real deal itself.
