"Game of Thrones" season 5 news and rumors reveal that Turkey has banned the HBO series for the "protection of students." Meanwhile, cast Natalie Dormer claimed that her role in the "Hunger Games: Mockingjay" was empowering.
According to the "Game of Thrones" season 5 news and rumors from Washington Post, the Turkish Armed Forces has added in a provision in the "protection of students" chapter which bans the "screening films or shows that depict 'sexual exploitation, pornography, exhibitionism, abuse, harassment and all negative behaviors.'"
The Post said that the "Game of Thrones" is known for its depiction of violence, explicit sex, gratuitous nudity, "including one episode which had some viewers convinced they had witnessed both rape and incest."
"The lurid nature of the show has led it to being partially censored in China. And, according to a report in the Turkish paper Hurriyet Daily News, it's now being banned in the country's military academies," it said.
In other "Game of Thrones" season 5 news and rumors, Natalie Dormer has claimed that her role as Cressida in the "Hunger Games: Mockingjay" has been very empowering.
"So much of female identity is bound up in our hair. It was fascinating to explore my idea of what makes me physically attractive. I felt empowered," she told Evening Standard.
In another interview with E! News, the "Hunger Games: Mockingjay" actress weighed in on her role as Cressida in the latest installment of the franschise, particularly on the tattoo at the side of her head which requires her to shave.
"They shaved my head every day, a clean shave. It was cold. I don't know if you guys remember the winter, but it was cold! Those polar vortexes! I was wearing my beanie a lot," she said.
But she claimed that she's loving the hair and the tattoos, except probably for the fact that it's impeding on her sleep. "I love sleep and more tattoos as an actor mean an earlier pick-up call in the morning to cover them all up," she said.
