The latest "Fast and Furious 7" rumors will definitely get many fans excited because there could be more sequels in the future. After the untimely death of Paul Walker last year, there have been speculations that this will be the last movie for Universal's film franchise. James Wan and the rest of the team did a great job finishing off the movie despite the loss of their lead star. Of course, this won't be complete without the help of Paul Walker's brothers Cody and Caleb.
New reports revealed that there could be an eighth and ninth installment for "Fast and Furious". According to Den of Geek, "Universal already has plans for Fast & Furious 8." They added, "But a new report suggests that the studio is looking to shoot both Fast & Furious 8 and Fast & Furious 9 back to back, which will bring the movie series to a close."
And guess who's directing the two final movies? The latest rumors point to Justin Lin, who ditched "Fast and Furious 7", which is now officially called "Furious 7". He directed four movies for the "Fast and Furious" film franchise. He was offered to do the seventh installment, but he ditched it.
According to the website, "He [Justin] ducked out of Fast & Furious 7 when Universal wanted a very quick turnaround on the film, the chair and megaphone instead going to James Wan." James Wan is more famous for directing box-office thrillers such as "Annabelle" and "The Conjuring", but now he will excite us with some awesome stunts in "Furious 7".
If Justin Lin will return for "Fast and Furious 8", who do you think will replace Paul Walker? We reported a few months ago that Cody Walker could appear in the next sequel. Movie Pilot reported a media analyst saying, "If Cody does a great job and is well received by audiences in this newly conceived role, then who better to carry on the Walker tradition than his brother? When it's a family member who fills in, it seems to soften any criticism that could develop."
The media analyst has a point, but who will become Cody's partner in case Vin Diesel would retire from his role? According to Deadline, Lucas Black will have at least two more series installments. The website reported, "Sean Boswell will be back for the 8th installment". Maybe we will see Cody Walker and Lucas Black in the post-credits of "Fast and Furious 7". What do you think of the rumors?
