After the revelation for the Phase 3 of Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), another cast member of "Captain America: Civil War" has been confirmed.
Daniel Bruhl will join Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans to bring the famous Marvel comics story arc Civil War. However, the character that the 36-year-old actor has to portray hasn't revealed yet.
Bruhl starred in Quentin Tarantino's "Inglorious Basterds" in 2009 as Fredrick Zoller, with Brad Pitt, Christoph Waltz, Michael Fassbender, Eli Roth, and Diane Kruger. He won various awards for his portrayal for Fredrick Zoller including Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, Phoenix Film Critics Society Award for Best Ensemble Acting, and Broadcast Film Critics Association for Best Ensemble Acting.
For the movie "Rush" in 2013, the German actor earned nominations from Golden Globe, BAFTA, Screen Actors Guild, and Empire Award for Best Supporting Actor. Bruhl played Niki Lauda in the biographical sport drama film along with lead actor Chris Hemsworth as James Hunt.
Marvel Producer Kevin Feige said, "With Daniel's ability to deliver intense, nuanced performances, we knew we had found yet another great actor to share the screen with some of our biggest heroes."
"Captain America: Civil War", to be helmed by Joe and Anthony Russo and slated to arrive in big screen in 2016, will introduce Black Panther, which will be played by Chadwick Boseman.
The comic character that Bruhl will portray is not Captain America's super villain based on Variety report. Because of this, speculations have started to circle around. Some think that Marvel will bring Bruhl's character in the third installment of "Captain America" to introduce the super villain of "Doctor Strange".
Marvel's "Doctor Strange" is set to hit theaters on November 4, 2016 with still unconfirmed actor to play the lead role; however, Benedict Cumberbatch seems Marvel's first pick to take the role of Supreme Sorcerer after Joaquin Phoenix dropped out the lead role.
Perhaps, Bruhl's character in "Captain America: Civil War" is just one of those other characters to be introduced as sort of a teaser to the upcoming Marvel movie either on "Avengers: Infinity War" or "Doctor Strange".
