The latest "Avengers 2" rumors point out to the replacement of the original cast and director. This could be the last time that you will see your favorite superheroes and Joss Whedon working together in one film. Inquisitr reported that the 50-year old director may take a break from the "Avengers 3", which will be divided into two films.
The "Avengers: Infinity War Part 1" will be released in 2018 while "Avengers: Infinity War Part 2" will hit the theaters in 2019. The website reported, "Whedon has already taken on the burden of laying out the shared universe, working on two block buster movies, and addition projects." So who would replace Joss Whedon?
There are rumors that the "Avengers 2" director will be replaced by the Russo brothers, who are known for their works in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier". An insider revealed, "The Russos are building up their Marvel cred with this all-star outing ('Captain America: Civil War'), and I keep hearing they will step up to the ultimate Marvel all-star team and take the reins of 'The Avengers' franchise from Joss Whedon, possibly with that next film that will shoot back to back."
Anthony and Joe Russo are perfect for the two-part sequel because they can split the workload and they have already proven that they are capable of directing Marvel movies. In case the directors will be on board, will they still be directing the original cast or a new breed of superheroes?
We reported a few months ago that the "Avengers" could be replaced by the Young Avengers. Iron Man could be replaced by Iron Lad, or also known as Kang The Conqueror. He will be joined by new recruits William Kaplan (the Asgardian), Elijah Bradley (the Patriot), and Theodore Atlman (Hulkling).
However, Marvel president Kevin Feige assured the fans that Robert Downey Jr. and the rest of the cast will be returning in "Avengers 3". He told Super Hero Hype, "Everyone [original cast] is locked up through Avengers 3." But he also didn't disclose the possibility of introducing new superheroes in the two-part film. Feige said, "If Guardians works, that will be the franchise to meet other cosmic folk and if we meet them in that and they work then we'll get another."
What do you think of the "Avengers 2" rumors? Will this be the last series for Joss Whedon?
