The midfielder suffered the problem in the recent win over St Mirren, only his second first-team appearance in a year.

Stephen O'Donnell, Jordan McMillan, Abdul Osman and Nathan Eccleston are also concerning Partick boss Alan Archibald ahead of Sunday's Premiership clash with Aberdeen.

Archibald told the Evening Times: "It is frustrating but a couple of them, even though they haven't been training, should be OK and we have had them resting.

"Sean went for a scan on his knee and there is a bit of damage there, but it is not too bad so we will maybe lose him for three weeks or a month.

"In hindsight, it was a ball that he probably shouldn't have gone for. He got a shot away and I think that overlooked the fact that it was a foul on him.

"He got a bit of a dunt and there were a lot of challenges on him after that as well. We could have taken him off, but he wanted to play on, that is the kind of player that he is.

"He got to half-time but then we had to take him off unfortunately. He is just really unlucky, you get players that seem to pick up knocks all the time.

"The positive is that his groin is fine and he won't be out for too long with this injury. It was an impact one, so it is not something that you can prevent."
