The news reports surrounding the Los Angeles Lakers following Nick Young's return are all positive, as the sixth man said that it's just the "swag effect." But could his return turn around the team's bad fortume?
"It's like my swag just rubbed off on everybody. It was unbelievable," Nick Young told a bunch of reporters after the game, according to ESPN.
The 6-7 shooting guard and forward claimed that it's very difficult reading about all those Los Angeles Lakers news putting down the team, as he recuperated from a torn ligament in the right thumb. The injury sidelined him for six weeks.
In his return against the Atlanta Hawks, he scored 17 off the bench and the team left with a victory, 114-109.
"It was tough. Just cause I felt they needed me. It [wasn't] like my leg or something was hurting, so I could run and all I was doing was running. And I come to the gym and the energy in the locker room was down. It was tough," he said.
Kobe Bryant, who also reached a milestone by surpassing the 32,000-point mark in the game, said of Nick Young: "He played phenomenal. It's a testament to his work ethic. It's hard when you have an injury to try and stay in shape. He didn't look tired out there at all. It looked like he could run all day."
In other Los Angeles Lakers news from SilverScreen And Roll, writer Great Mambino said that Nick Young's return will help the team especially offensively.
"He'll give the Lakers a single, solitary three-point option that's above league average ... and the floor spacing that the team desperately needs," he wrote. "Defensively, Young at least knows what to do and works hard, though he's more than likely nothing more than mediocre on that end."
But at least, Nick Young won't hurt the team defensively as most Los Angeles Lakers news reports placed the team dead last in point differential at a negative 10.5 points per game anyway, the writer said.
