Minnesota Timberwolves shooting guard Kevin Martin Stats 2014 is still great but he will be out of the game indefinitely after he had his right wrist fractured. But even before he gets sidelined for his injury, he played against New York Knicks, hurting, and winning at the same time.

The Timberwolves were literally having a less than stellar line up. Ricky Rubio sat behind the bench with a walking boot on his left foot, while Nikola Pekovic had a splint encasing in his right hand and lower forearm.

To make things more complicated, Thaddeus Young was not in the game to mourn for his mother. So the team relied on Kevin Martin and Corey Brewer. But Martin was also injured.

What a tough night for Minnesota, but without any notice, the game changed for them. From a five time game losing streak, they were able to defeat the Knicks in a strong way finishing with a 115-99 final score.

Indeed it was one for the books. Coach Flip Saunders said "We've just got to come out and play with the guys we have. It gives guys opportunities and we've just got to try to keep on improving individually and we've got to try to keep on improving as a team."

The toughest among the players that night was Martin and Kevin Martin Stats 2014 is going to be looking different after last night's game. He injured his wrist with 6:48 to play in the first quarter when he was fouled while shooting a 3-pointer. But before he even had his wrist injured, Martin already needed IV fluids after battling an illness for most of the day.

But Martin didn't even think of it that much. Martin said "I realize the situation and after the guys worked so hard after the horrible road trip we had. Coach challenged us in practice. There was never a thought to not playing. You have to get out there with your teammates and show them that you're dedicated to being here."

Aside from Martin, Brewer also needed IV fluids to survive the day. He was making frequent trips to the bathroom from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Despite being short handed, the team successfully pulled through. Saunders said "We don't have a big margin of error. I thought it was important that we play well tonight, for our young players, because we wanted to come out and get some positive reinforcement."
