New York Knicks team has informed that Carmelo Anthony has been ruled out of last Wednesday's games facing the game against the Dallas Mavericks without their star player. Anthony has been experiencing back spasm which caused him to dock out of the game. This news may changed Carmelo Anthony Stats 2014 Season.

Anthony said that there is still no specific time frame as to when he will be back playing in the hard court. In his absence J.R. Smith will play in place of him as the starter and will travel with the Knicks to Oklahoma City following the game.

Anthony told a Knicks official on Wednesday night that his back was "stiff" and "sore" and he was unsure if he would play in Friday's game.

He said "I just don't know. It's too far ahead for me to even think about right now. It's gotten a little better, but today was the first day that I actually got to walk around a little bit."

He adds that the Kicks medical staff "said these things are hard to gauge -- I just don't know how long I'll be out."

Anthony described his spasm saying "I couldn't move. I've never felt this way before. It's gotten a little better, but today was the first day that I actually got to walk around a little bit."

Even team mate Smith sees Anthony's pain saying "He could barely talk, he said very few words. You could tell the pain he was in."

According to the team coach Derek Fisher "Anthony is making some progress, but not enough, I think, to be in a game, so it will be day to day."

Adding "He's not in a lot of comfort, so [he's] really just trying to rest up and get himself better. We'll be out here tonight and we'll see if we can get a game without him."

This is Anthony's second injury jus this season. Last week he divulged that he was also playing with a discomfort on his left knee which started during their second game. Because of this, Carmelo Anthony Stats 2014 Season may have significant changes.

Anthony leads the New York Knicks in scoring with 23.2 points per game but with his injury Carmelo Anthony Stats 2014 Season will bring him some drawbacks. Their next-highest scorer is Amar'e Stoudemire (11.7 points per game).
