Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard celebrated their first Thanksgiving as husband and wife. According to E! News, the couple spent this holiday season with Derick's family.

"So many blessings to count this Thanksgiving...Mama Cathy is well, best hubby in the world, expecting a son," Jill captioned a snapshot on Instagram showing off her growing belly while posing with her husband, his brother Daniel and her mother-in-law. "God's mercies are new every morning! #happythanksgiving"

"So thankful that the Lord has healed mom and we can have Thanksgiving dinner with her this year! #beyondblessed #family #bestmom" Derick added.

According to Fashion Times, Cathy Dillard is now recovering from Cancer over the past months. Derick's mother was battling with the sickness during the latter part of the couple's courtship and right up until their June 2014 wedding.

Reportedly, their wedding rehearsal was an emotional one as Derick pushed an empty wheelchair down the aisle hoping that his mother would be able to make it for their wedding ceremony the following day.

"I want to ask everyone to pray for my mom. Anyone who has been through [cancer] knows what it is like. If everyone could think of her, I know she would really appreciate it," Derick prayed at the rehearsal dinner.

Cathy Dillard was able to make it to the wedding ceremony and witness Derick and Jill's nuptials.

On the other hand, the couple choose to have a positive outlook after lossing Derick's grandmother. Reportedly, the "strong religious faith and deep family bonds" help the family to still celebrate after grieving over their loss.

"So grateful that Jill and I got to speak with my grandmother this week before she passed away earlier today," Derick captioned a photo of the three together on Instagram with "You will be greatly missed Grandma Vergie, but we're looking forward to seeing you in Heaven before too long!"

Jill added, "Grandma Vergie, you will be greatly missed!"
