Sherri Shepherd placed her hosting skills behind after her stint in "The View." Rumor Fix reported the former co-host appeared in "The Talk" where she said she "miss doing this" referring to being on a talk show.
Reportedly, Sherri jokingly said she'd love to be the "Chocolate Ellen" hosting her own talk show with humor. But as much as she wanted, she has a lot of work to do and can't see herself going back yet.
"I don't believe in going back. I'm looking forward, not behind. Would I want to go back...no, I want to keep going forward!" the 47-year-old comedienne said.
Daily Mail reported ABC News executives are trying to get Sherri or Joy Behar to return to "The View" in an effort to boost ratings.
Reportedly, "The View" had a good spot during its fall debut on September 16 with new moderators Rosie, Nicolle Wallace, Rosie Perez and the returning Whoopi Goldberg. However, the rating fall dramatically, hitting numbers below those of the show's last season with Goldberg, Sherri Shepherd, Barbara Walters and Jenny McCarthy.
According to sources close to ABC News, the network is interested in having either Sherri or Joy to bring back former viewers.
"Both Sherri and Joy had huge followings while on the show and their familiarity could be just the thing to spark interest in the show again and generate some positive buzz," the source explained.
"She brought a fun, energetic spirit to the show and loved talking about the Kardashians and reality TV," a source said of Sherri.
Sherri's packed schedule doesn't seem to welcome another one. After her appearance in Broadway as Cinderella's stepmother, she is a co-star in the new Chris Rock Film The Top Five. She's also got Ride Along 2 coming out next year and will be appearing in 10 episodes of Soul Man with Cedric The Entertainer.
