'Janis Joplin,' movie release date is not yet available to public since the film project is just getting ready to head to production. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the creative team behind "Dallas Buyers Club" is reuniting to discuss the Janis Joplin life story.
Reportedly, Jean-Marc Vallée, who just finished "Demolition," a drama with Jake Gyllenhaal and Naomi Watts, and "Wild" starring Reese Witherspoon, is in negotiations to helm the project. Craig Borten and Melisa Wallack are in negotiations to rewrite for the biopic and Vallee's producing partner, Ron Terry is producing with Nathan Ross.
Deadline reported that Amy Adams, who is reprising her "Man of Steel" role as Lois Lane in the upcoming movie "Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice," is set to star as the queen of rock 'n' roll who originally signed on to play the "Piece of My Heart" singer way back in 2010.
According to THR, the project, which has been in development for quite a while, has seen a lot of setbacks, including picking the director which includes the names like Lee Daniels, Fernando Meirelles, and Catherine Hardwicke.
People noted Adams' affection for the "hard-living-yet-vulnerable singer" who died at the age in 1970 at age 27. Reportedly, in her interview with Vogue magazine for its December issue, Adams said that if given the opportunity to get coffee with anyone from the past, it'd be with Janis Joplin, but "it probably wouldn't be coffee."
The 40-year-old actress, who is set to appear in other projects including "Story of Your Life" which is based on a short story by Ted Chiang, disclosed that the biopic's delay has "just been a process of getting the script together and finding time in schedules."
According to Latino Post, Janis Joplin biopic, which will be entitled "Get It While You Can" will begin filming in mid-2015.
