Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's marriage troubles have been the subject of rumors, but everything seems to be well in the homefront. The "Grace of Monaco" star attended the "Paddington Bear" premiere in Australia without the "American Idol" judge but was accompanied by her mother, Janelle, instead.
Speaking to The Guardian, Nicole Kidman said that 2014 has not been kind to her.
"Personally [it's been] really really really hard. My family underwent a massive tragedy. So not my favourite year. But I try not to be ungrateful - I'm grateful to be alive," she said.
The 47-year-old actress' father, Dr. Antony Kidman, died of a heart attack in August. Then her movie "Grace of Monaco" flopped in the box-office after panned by the critics. There's also the Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban marriage rumors that the couple constantly dealth with.
However, "Paddington Bear" is billed to be a blockbuster after topping the box office in the UK. It opens in Australia on December 11.
"I hope it does well in Australia because it's a film that's about something ... it's a kid's movie that has people in it. Real people," she said.
Nicole Kidman also said that her father would have loved the movie, but he pretty much love everything she does because "he's biased."
There's no Keith Urban to accompany Nicole Kidman on the red carpet premiere in Australia, but it didn't trigger another round of rumors about their alleged marriage troubles. With her husband's busy schedule, the actress took the time to spend it with her mother.
"It's nice to be able to just come and take care of my mum and bring her back with me," she said.
Previous reports alleged that her mom has contributed to the tension in Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's marriage after she reportedly decided to bring her home to live with them after her father's death.
