Gina Carano has a new movie after her stint in Bus 657. The former "Strikeforce" champ joins the cast of "Kickboxer" as a fight promoter.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Carano will join "Guardians of the Galaxy" star Dave Bautista, "X-Men: Days of Future Past's" Alain Moussi, UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre, Model-turned-actress Sara Malakul Lane and Jean-Claude Van Damme in this 1989 action classic remake.
Reportedly, the film that tells Kurt Sloane's journey in learning kickboxing to avenge his brother's death in the hands of Tong Po is produced by Ted Field of Radar Films, Dimitri Logothetis and Nick Celozzi.
"Kickboxer" is executively produced by Mike Weber and Peter Meyer along with Brian O'Shea, Nat McCormick and Jeff Bowler from The Exchange.
Carano had several movies in the past including "In The Blood" and "Fast & Furious 6."
According to Bleacher Report, the shooting of the film will put distance between talk of St-Pierre and Carano returning to the cage. It has been previously reported that Carano's return to the cage was a bit fuzzy and it caused UFC President Dana White to leave some heated remarks.
According to Fox Sports, Gina was eyed to have a bout with bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey for her first fight after her hiatus. From a very positive statement about negotiations with the former Champ, reports from Inside Fights last August made President Dana White's confidence in dealing with the now-silverscreen-star turned to comments like "negotiations with her have grown complicated" to being "the hardest human being we've ever dealt with."
"Just incredibly difficult. We've dealt with (Brock) Lesnar, Tito (Ortiz), Chuck (Liddell) was f--king king of the world, Ronda Rousey, we've pretty much done deals with everyone on Earth and she is the hardest f--king athlete we have ever dealt with," White said.
Carano had her last fight in August 2009.
