An online petition was started last month for a "19 Kids And Counting" cancellation but instead of succumbing to pressure, the reality show reportedly only gained "more momentum" according to E! News.
The family's patriarch, Jim Bob Duggar brushed off the petition for TLC to cancel the series.
"They won't succeed," he reportedly said at the Booster Banquet at Hannibal-LaGrange University. "Our show is the No. 1 show on TLC. It's a small group creating this fuss. All it has done is give us more exposure."
In fact, this incident reportedly earned the show's official Facebook page 50,000 likes in the week after the petition started.
The head of the religious family added, "God is expanding our borders through the national media."
The original petition at Change.org, created by Jim Wissick, was started in order to "end LGBTQ fear mongering by the Duggars."
Wissick quoted an alleged robocall recording by Michelle Duggar sharing "some shocking news that would affect the safety of Northwest Arkansas women and children."
She talked about a Fayetteville City Council ordinance that would allow transgenders to use the women's bathroom and other facilities.
"I don't believe the citizens of Fayetteville would want males with past child predator convictions that claim they are female to have a legal right to enter private areas that are reserved for women and girls," the recording continued.
In turn, Wissick said in the petition, "Duggar words reek of [ignorance] and fear mongering. Just because someone is transgendered doesn't mean they are a child predator or a rapist."
The said petition was met with a different appeal created by fans of the Duggar family to stop the "19 Kids And Counting" cancellation.
"The Duggar Family is under attack from anti-marriage advocates for standing for traditional marriage," the counter-petition from ipetitions.com stated. "We commend The Duggar Family for their brave stand in defending marriage as ordained by God between one man and one woman."
It continued to state, "No individual's sexual behavior and chosen lifestyle has the right to redefine marriage."
Do you think TLC should listen to John Wissick's petition for a "19 Kids And Counting" cancellation or should it stay on air?
