The latest news regarding the Los Angeles Lakers revealed that management tried to offer Steve Nash along with draft picks to Boston Celtics for Rajon Rondo, which only proved that the team is not tanking. Meanwhile, Kobe Bryant said that adding another superstar to the team won't really affect his retirement plans.

NBA courtside reporter Ramona Shelburne tweeted: "Adding to @ESPNSteinLine report on Rondo from yesterday. Sources tell ESPN the Lakers also offered Boston multiple picks & Nash for Rondo."

But the Boston Celtics, long considered to be the rival of the Los Angeles Lakers, accepted the offer of the Dallas Mavericks instead as they receive Brendan Wright, Jameer Nelson and Jae Crowder along with a conditional first pick and a second round pick. To sweeten the deal, they also get almost $13 million trade exception.

According to SilverScreenAndRoll, all the news on Los Angeles Lakers' attempt to wrangle in Rajon Rondo, proved "that the front office has not completely submitted to the idea of losing out."

The squad has been accused of tanking this season in order to get a high draft pick next year. Its drafting of Julius Randle at No. 7 was the highest the team had in recent years.

"They're not trying to tank, at least not actively," wrote the poster The Great Mambino on the blog site. "But they're not trying to build up an instant winner. What the Lakers are doing--according to all signs I've seen--is build up a winner in any way that they can."

But will that matter to Kobe Bryant? Not in the least.

The latest Los Angeles Lakers news from Real GM showed that whether or not the team will content for a title, Kobe Bryant will still leave the game when it's time to go. "It's really my call, man. If I want to play, I'll play. If I don't, I don't. If I don't want to play anymore and go through the process of getting my body ready day in and day out, I'm not going to play," he said.
