What should we look forward to for tonight's finale episode of the exciting new series? Warning: spoilers ahead!

According E! News Online, "The Affair, Showtime's gripping drama that tells the story of an affair and a murder from two different narratives, has inspired a lot of debate and theorizing since its debut. So much, in fact, that we are even calling it the new Lost, because every single person who watches has a theory. And they will argue that their theory is right until they are blue in the face...or until their fingers cramp up from typing out so many tweets about it. Is Noah (Dominic West) telling the truth or utilizing his storytelling skills to make for a better narrative? Should we trust the fragile Alison (Ruth Wilson)? Or, you know, should we just not believe either of them? Heading into Sunday's season finale (The Affair, which was nominated for three Golden Globes has been picked up for a second season), there is one fan theory making its way around the Internet that we can officially shut down as we brought it straight to The Affair's creator Sarah Treem. "There's this one that keeps going around that half of the reality is Noah's book and the other half is reality. People think that Noah's side is his book and her side is what really happened," Treem says. "I think that's a really fascinating theory, but it's not right! [Laughs.]"...All of theorizing adds up to one of the most important questions of all: are either Noah or Alison a reliable narrator? "I struggle with that question, like I struggled with it the whole series," Treem admits."

Movie News Guide adds, "In the final episode of the first season, Helen and Noah will make the move to reconcile. The teaser will show that Helen will attempt to patch it up with her husband, admitting she's doing well in therapy. SpoilersGuide posted a series of photos for the finale, where one shot features Whitney with Cherry, Scotty's mother. The teaser also shows that the Soloways will be coming to the house of the Lockharts, perhaps to talk about Scotty and Whitney, and there, Helen will see Alison and a possible confrontation ensues. Will things go down badly or will the families be able to patch it up? Meanwhile, the detective will apparently make progress on his case, but what will this mean for Noah, who is also seen in the teasers beating Scotty."

Would you like some more finale spoilers?

"Creator Sarah Treem's choice to incorporate two separate narratives worked to portray the dynamic, complex characters of Noah and Alison, and we've teetered on the line of loving and hating them as the plot unraveled. Is Noah - the writer we know him to be - manipulating the truth with his gift of words? Is Alison using her grief and guilt over the loss of her 4-year-old son to seem more believable? As this steamy, adulterous love story progressed, we may have let the plot line of murder slip under the rug, but someone is guilty of killing Cole's brother Scotty Lockhart, and hopefully this final episode will bring the killer into the light. If the show sticks to its true nature, we are in for an intense finale that surely will bring yet another unexpected plot twist. Last week's episode revealed a potential motive for Scotty's death. When Noah discovers that his daughter Whitney is pregnant after finding a positive pregnancy test in the garbage, he ventures to the Planned Parenthood site (Whitney schedules an appointment for an abortion) with hopes to figure out who got her pregnant. He is immediately enraged when Scotty Lockhart - a ranch hand who is several years her senior - walks through the door. Do we think the soft, yet easily agitated Noah could have been capable of murdering Scotty? The preview for the finale did show a quick glimpse of Noah clasping his hands around someone's throat, and that someone looked an awful lot like Scotty. Sources say that Noah will also have a conflict with another "unnamed" member of the Lockhart family," reports HNGN.
