Lady Gaga news reported how the "Born This Way" pop star recently dissed singers who don't write their own songs, calling their music "karaoke for pretty girls".
According to a report from Yahoo News, the international hitmaker first clarified that she is behind 90 percent of the songs that she has released. Lady Gaga then pointed out that while not all songwriters are capable of being good performers, it is still important to at least be able to nail one in order to become a legit recording artist.
Lady Gaga told the news site: "If you're not gonna write your own music, you better be able to blow. Because if you can't blow, there's no reason to do the job."
The eccentric singer also scoffed at record labels who sign up singers who do not write their own music. She said: "Why are companies paying money to promote them? Because they're beautiful and look good on camera and are kinda-sorta singing along?"
"It's like karaoke for pretty girls," Lady Gaga scoffed.
"When you're a singer-songwriter it doesn't really matter if you're beautiful. What matters is that you create a relationship with your fans, and they care what you have to say," she explained.
While appearing to diss other pop stars, the singer previously admitted that it is a challenge to be in the music industry. Earlier Lady Gaga news revealed how she crashed" after working for six years straight.
She shared to CBS News correspondent Anthony Mason: "I felt like people were holding me to a pretty high standard."
Lady Gaga told the news reporter. "Everybody's hooting and hollering because, you know, I didn't sell 20 million records this time, which I did with my first album. And you know, it's not easy to replicate that. And you just -- I don't have a formula."
The music star told CBS News: "You know, it's one thing to put a train on the tracks. But it's another thing to keep the train on the tracks. You can't just let a train out on the tracks and just run it out; it'll -- I crashed."
"I just didn't even want to make music any more," Lady Gaga confessed.
