Fans got a glimpse of the new villain in "The Avengers: Age of Ultron" when Marvel released the official trailer. Ultron, who is played by James Spader, suddenly appeared at the hideout of the Avengers while they were celebrating. There was even a scene that showed him and his army of robots attacking the superheroes.
In the "Avengers 2" trailer, we also saw chaos and lots of explosions which gives us a hint of how powerful Ultron is. However, not many people know that there was another villain that was being considered to appear in the sequel. During an interview with Crave Online, Tim Roth revealed that "The Abomination" almost made an appearance in Joss Whedon's upcoming movie.
He said, "They were going to do it. They did do that. They were thinking, in The Avengers 2 or something. There was a movie we could do that at one point, but way back when. It just kind of got swept under the carpet I guess. That would be hilarious."
I wonder how the movie would be like if "The Abomination" was the new villain in "The Avengers: Age of Ultron" instead of Ultron. For those who don't know who Tim Roth's evil character is, he was introduced in "The Incredible Hulk" back in 2008.
The movie was directed by Louis Leterrier and The Abomination's real name is Emil Blonsky. According to Cinema Blend, Roth played a soldier that was hired by General Ross (William Hurt) to detain Bruce Banner or also known as the Hulk. Blonsky transformed into The Abomination when he got injected by the gamma-radiated blood.
Tim Roth's character ended up locked away instead of being killed, which started out rumors that "The Abomination" will return in future films. In the post-credits of "The Incredible Hulk," we saw Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) trying to recruit The Hulk for the Avengers. This started out speculations that the movie will be connected to the "Avengers 2."
Since it has been confirmed that The Abomination won't be the new villain in "The Avengers: Age of Ultron," then there could be a possibility that he will return in another solo movie for "Hulk." However, Joss Whedon revealed in an interview that there won't be any solo film for the green monster in the near future so we may have to wait until 2019 since all Marvel movies have been lined up already.
