What should we look forward to for tonight's episode and the rest of the first season, which takes place in the mythical Batman city of Gotham? Warning: "Gotham" Season 1 spoilers ahead!

USA Today chooses the "Gotham" return as its top pick for Monday night TV, explaining "NBC and ABC are lost for much of the night in some sad approximation of reality, but never fear: Better TV awaits elsewhere. And that begins with this evocative Batman prequel which steadily improved over the fall, as its script and performances began to keep pace with its already strong sense of atmosphere. We rejoin Det. James Gordon in exile at Arkham Asylum - where he's about to meet a doctor played by Morena Baccarin. So hey, Jim: Life's not all bad."

According to Carter Matt, "When "Gotham" returns to Fox with new episodes on Monday night, there is going to be a part of this story that feels like a very different show. After all, gone is the Jim Gordon who was spending his days working alongside Harvey Bullock at the Gotham City Police Department. In his place, you have a somewhat-weathered man who has gone through quite a bit, and is working now at Arkham Asylum as a punishment for his noble (but not in the eyes of the Mayor's office) acts. Is there a silver lining here? It feels that way, given that he and Dr. Leslie Thompkins (Morena Baccarin) waste very little time hitting it off. In a sneak peek over on Entertainment Weekly, Thompkins introduces herself to Gordon, and we learn that because she spends most of her time with the female patients, the two did not have an opportunity to meet until now. For the most part, Leslie is extremely complimentary of the one-time detective, even to the point that the patient she is treating tells the two to "get a room." It's not entirely clear whether or not the show plans to go there with the character, but the romance between Gordon and Barbara Keen was not entirely well-received. Given that she has now went back to her ex with the MCU, it is very hard to tell just where this story is going to go from here."

It will certainly be entertaining, exciting and engaging to see Season 1 continue to play out! Check out the "Rogues' Gallery" preview and sneak peek videos here, featuring stars Ben McKenzie and Jada Pinkett Smith:
