There could still be hope that the Half Life 3 release date is underway, new reports hinted.

According to Master Herald, "Recently, an interesting entry was seen in SteamDB, reportedly tied to the legendary game - according to reports, the Steam Application with ID 323900 is indeed "Half-Life 3", and the game even had the official logo briefly uploaded to its entry."

Although the said rumor remains to be unfounded like other previous Half Life 3 release date speculations, some fans consider the fact that launch rumors abound as enough proof that a third installment could be in order.

Another release date rumor is pointing at The International 5 event for Dota 2. As Master Herald further explained, a very announcement from Valve's Gabe Newell will be heard at the gaming event, and that could be possibly related to Half Life 3's development.

Meanwhile, in an article published by Motoring Crunch, it was suggested that fans' consipracy theories could actually have a hand in the game's release.

"There are two things Half Life fans can learn from this. The first is that Valve likes to announce an upcoming title in a fun way and the second is that Valve is probably waiting for fans to come out with the right theory before confirming Half Life 3 to be in production."

"With that being said, fans of the Half Life franchise shouldn't stop coming up with conspiracy theories for Half Life 3."

Valve's co-founder Gabe Newell recently addressed Half Life 3 release date rumors saying that nothing is currently being developed, and should the game materialize, it won't be anytime soon.
