"Star Wars Episode 7" actor Harrison Ford looked sharp during the Living Legend Aviation Award as he headlined the red carpet event along with John Travolta.
The 72-year-old wore a classic black tux as he wore the medallion awarded to him around his neck, and posed before the cameras in the Beverly Hilton hotel.
Harrison Ford is a licensed pilot of both aircraft and helicopters. He owns eight planes, including a Cessna 680 worth $18 million.
"Flying is like good music. It elevates the spirit and it's an exhilarating freedom," he said in an earlier interview with The Mail on Sunday.
"I love the machines. I love the aviation community. I used to own aeroplanes and have pilots flying them for me, but I finally realized they were having more fun than I was," he said.
John Travolta, for his part, is the official ambassador of the Living Legend Aviation Awards. His fleet includes seven planes.
Harrison Ford will reprise his iconic role as Han Solo in the "Star Wars Episode 7" which is set to be screened next year. Not much is known about the storyline for the film, although the Internet is awash with speculation about the fate of Han Solo, Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia.
Han Solo, according to Starwars.com is a "Smuggler. Scoundrel. Hero. Han Solo, captain of the Millennium Falcon, was one of the great leaders of the Rebel Alliance. He and his co-pilot Chewbacca came to believe in the cause of galactic freedom, joining Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia Organa in the fight against the Empire."
While filming "Star Wars 7," Harrison Ford, who is also associated with another iconic character Indiana Jones, figured into an accident which sidelined him for months. He broke his ankle on the door of the Millennium Falcon which delayed production for a few weeks.
