In a recent interview with Chinese media outlet Sina.com, actress Jang Nara touched on the subject of marriage and children. The actress is currently popular in China due to her recent drama hits "Fated To Love You" and "Mr. Baek."
With her delicate features and slight frame, the 33-year-old actress is often mistaken for someone in her 20s. She's not sure why.
"I used to think I looked young for my age," she said. "But I think I look my age now."
At her age she has given some thought to marriage and children.
"I'm single currently," she said. "I'd like to meet a kind-hearted and healthy guy. But if there are too many conditions, then it'll be hard to meet. I think I should start dating and get married before 37 years old. That way, I can have children before I'm 40 years old."
But on a 2014 episode of "Healing Camp" she said that she did date but it rarely worked out.
"I'm not the type to be popular with the opposite gender," she told the show's host Kim Jae Dong. "Even the guys I am in touch with right now and am friendly with are just like brothers."
On that program she did say she would go on blind dates if she had not met anyone by the age of 37.
"When I'm around 37 I want to try really hard to get married," she said on "Healing Camp." "If nothing works out then I'll consider blind dates."
Rumors linked her romantically with Kim Nam Gil, Daniel Choi and Taiwanese singer-actor Peter Ho, but her agency denied that she dated any of these stars.
Daniel Choi is one of several attractive co-stars that she has had the opportunity to work with. Jang Hyuk was her leading man for the second time in "Fated To Love You." Sin Ha Gyun was her love interest in Mr. Baek. When asked to compare them she described them both as "kind and great actors."
"I could not feel any difference," she said. "They just have their own styles."
It's a good thing the actress speaks Mandarin and Cantonese as her next project may be filmed in China.
"Although a discussion is going on about a Chinese drama, it's not confirmed yet," she told Sina.com. "I hope I can meet my Chinese fans through the drama as I am thankful for the works done in China."
Jang Nara won three awards for her "Fated To Love You" and "Mr. Baek" roles in 2014. She won Top Excellence Award for Actress, a Popularity Award and Best Couple Award at the 2014 MBC Drama Awards.
