In terms of design and display, the Fuse Joplin stated that the HTC One M8 has a uni-body design, a metallic construction with two fine strips on the back at white or black, along with colors such as Gunmetal Gray, Glacial Silver or Amber Gold surface to hide the radio antennas. They are powered by a Qualcomm MSM8974AB Snapdragon 801 chipset, and Adreno 330 GPU. It also has a 2GB RAM, with internal memories of 16 and 32GB that can expand up 128GB. It runs on the Android OS, v4.4.2 (KitKat), which also have the v5.0 (Lollipop) upgrade.

GSMArena reports that the HTC device is equipped with a 4MP primary camera, being paired with a powerful 5MP secondary camera. Its battery is at 2600 mAh capacity that last around 20 hours.

Meanwhile, the Samsung handset has an impressive primary camera of 12MP, and lower 1.2MP secondary camera. Its Li-Ion 1860 mAh battery can only last 11 hours in 3G.

The HTC One M8 32GB is worth $722 in Amazon.com, while the Samsung Galaxy Alpha is at $475.
