Fans of “Friends” have been waiting for a reunion for years, and many have been hoping that there would be one in 2015.
However, to the dismay of “Friends” fanatics all around, it seems that the reruns will be the only way for fans to get their fix.
“As far as a reunion project, that’s just not in the cards. I think that show was about a finite period in your life — after college and before you start your family where your friends are your family — and that’s what that show was about,” explained Matt LeBlanc, who played Joey Tribbiana, according to YouthHealthMag.
He added, “So to go beyond that doesn’t feel like you’d do justice to that. I liken it to that saying that the book is always better than the movie. I think it’s best to imagine what those characters are doing now versus to see those characters. No one wants to see us in our 40s [laughs]. Joey’s still struggling as an actor. It’d just be sad.”
Although the six friends are busy doing their own things career-wise, several members of the group make sure get together to relive their “Friends” days.
“It’s really nice to have five people who can understand what it is that you’re going through. I know we’ll always have a special place in each-others’ hearts for one another, but we don’t all [see each other]. The girls definitely do,” stated Jennifer Aniston, according to Grazia Daily.
She added, “Matty and Matt we see. Schwimmer’s out in New York so we don’t see him that much, actually. But yeah, it’s something where we know that if we all got in a room together we’d pick up right where we left off.”
For those who are waiting for a reunion, there may be one years after 2015.
“We always joke about how we’d love to go back. We’ve all had moments of going, ‘Why don’t we just do a Thanksgiving episode?’ But it’s too many people and too many different roads that people are down. Now, and I said this a while ago, we should just wait until we’re really old and be Golden Friends,” continued Aniston.
