Curved edge display for the Samsung Galaxy S6 specs? A tease for the March 1 Galaxy Unpacked event hints the tech giant could be upping the ante against HTC and Apple.

The unveil for the Samsung Galaxy S6 specs is highly expected at the regular Unpacked event, the next one scheduled this March 1. Samsung is expected to launch its next flagship device Sunday evening, at Barcelona, Spain. Is the Galaxy Note 4 Edge a promise of things to come?

The Korean manufacturer has yet to recover from a year of diminishing profits, and unveiling a new flagship device could bolster its position in the mobile market, with HTC considered (more in this CNET report).

The Samsung Galaxy S6 specs is kept under close wraps, but a Forbes report pushes a leak regarding the design, which is allegedly too similar to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The leak is yet to be confirmed, but it came from the same source which released the leak on the iPhone 6s' designs before the devices came out last year.

The leak insists the battery for the new Samsung Galaxy S6 will not be removable, and it will be smaller due to innovations in the chipset. The Exynos chipset replaces the staple Qualcomm Snapdragon (810), which gets hotter faster by comparison.

The leak doesn't explain the tease for the March 1 event, though, with a silhouette of curved display hinted. It's rumored the Galaxy S Edge variant will incorporate the curved display of the Galaxy Note 4 Edge, but the leaked photos on the Forbes report offer no placement for the feature. The chassis for the device does bear striking semblance to Apple's recently released devices.

The March event should confirm rumors of design for Samsung next flagship device, which could be too similar to Apple's if the Forbes report of the leak holds.
