A "Saved by the Bell" reunion on "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon" had fans of both shows looking for two characters missing from the ensemble.
Yesterday's episode of "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon" had a big surprise in store for those who grew up with 90's TV. TV show reunions are always welcome affairs, with classics like "Perfect Strangers," "Who's the Boss," "Seinfeld" and Friends" in mind. Fallon decided to surprise the audience with a "Saved by the Bell" reunion, though.
The show featured a skit with Jimmy Fallon reminiscing his younger years, allegedly with a hairdo similar to Mike Myers, when one by one the "Saved by the Bell" cast stepped in to join the nostalgia.
The reassembled "Saved by the Bell" ensemble didn't appear to have aged over the years, all of which remained true to form and in character.
The "Saved by the Bell" reunion had cast members dropping lines in reference to the show's episodes, many of which only followers of the 90's sitcom are familiar with. Screen Rant dished out a detailed overview, which included the following:
The "Save The Max" poster refers to the Bayside High gang's efforts to raise $10,000 to keep their favorite diner open in season 2, episode 3.
The "No Hope on Dope" poster is from season 3, episode 21, in which a famous movie star came to Bayside High to promote an anti-drug campaign, only to be found using drugs himself.
The "Field Trip! White Water Rafting!!" poster is a nod to season 2, episode 15, "The Fabulous Belding Boys", in which Mr. Belding was upstaged by his brother, Rod Belding, who offered to take the kids on a white water rafting trip and then bailed on them.
The "Saved by the Bell" reunion was missing two mainstay characters, though. Dustin Diamond who played Screech was unable to participate, set to stand trial for a stabbing incident in a Wisconsin bar. Lark Voorhies , who played Lisa Turtle, gave up acting and is reportedly having mental health issues.
