Chris Pratt As Indiana Jones In Part 5? Rumor Mill Abuzz, Considers ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Actor Perfect For The Part; Pratt Comments Possibility ‘An Awesome Opportunity’

Chris Pratt as Indiana Jones? The latest news from the rumor mill has the "Guardians of the Galaxy" actor replacing Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones 5.

It would be "an awesome opportunity" if Chris Pratt became Indiana Jones, and the actor said as much on the possibility during his roast Friday night. Pratt was roasted at Harvard University, and received the Hasty Pudding Man of the Year honor to boot.

Pratt took everything in stride: one presenter offered an Infinity Stone to him, and then proceeded to give him a bra with dinosaurs in it's stead.

Among the more serious topics discussed in Friday's roast was Pratt's visit to Christopher's Haven, an organization for the battle against cancer. It turns out the actor intends to leverage whatever momentum he had playing Star Lord just to make an impact on children's lives.

"I said it before, and I plan to live by it," Pratt said in a comicbook.com report. "Going into doing 'Guardians of the Galaxy' if it was ever successful enough where it would actually make an impact on a kid's life in a positive way, I would be there to try to do that, and I've been really blessed and happy to do that."

Pratt's celebrity status peaked in "The Lego Movie" which earned unprecedented acclaim from both critics and fans. "Guardians of the Galaxy" cemented his box office credibility, and the actor is set to star in "Jurassic World" next.

Screen Rant considers the possibility a wise move for Walt Disney, if ever the rumors of Chris Pratt as Indiana Jones solidify.

"Disney would be making a wise business decision if they enticed Pratt to take on the role," Chris Agar reported.

"They understand better than most his place in the movie star hierarchy, and his standing should only continue to grow as he becomes more and more synonymous with geek-friendly entertainment ('Jurassic World,' 'Cowboy Ninja Viking'). Right now, there's not as much momentum surrounding Indiana Jones 5 when compared to something like 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens,' so Pratt's presence could encourage people it's worth seeing."
