Stephen Amell Of ‘Arrow,’ On The Possibility Of TV Crossovers: With The Flash Sharing The Same Screen, Is Supergirl and Constantine Next? Amell Commented Crossover With ‘Gotham’ A Long Shot

Stephen Amell of "Arrow" commented on an opportunity DC apparently isn't taking advantage of: crossovers.

DC is following the lead of Marvel in extending its franchise, from cinema and into TV. Marvel did get a good head start in building its universe, though, with DC just beginning to maneuver its leverage in the niche. Screen Rant reported the possibilities DC may have overlooked, which Stephen Amell of "Arrow" hinted.

DC scattered its franchise into different networks, earning significant success with "Arrow," "The Flash" and "Gotham." "Constantine" also launched as the horror-genre arm of the franchise, though met with mixed reviews from critics and audiences.

With the "Supergirl" series set to share the same universe, is a crossover of superheroes being prepped in the future? Stephen Amell of "Arrow" already shared the same screen with "The Flash" recently, which was received well by viewers. It's unlikely "Gotham" will be part of the shared DC universe, though.

"It would be cool to crossover with Supergirl because it's something with Greg Berlanti, who's the helmer and sort of the brain trust or the center of the brain trust of Arrow and The Flash and I know so many of the people that are involved in the production of that show so that would be really interesting," Amell commented on the possibility.

Screen Rant considered Amell's comment sketchy, though, considering his track record of faulty forecasts.

Amell confessed a crossover with the TV adaptation of the Batman story arc is a far stretch, with the series set in different timelines:

"Gotham would be a tough one, just because I think they're out in a different time but the crossover with The Flash was so much fun and did so well that I can't imagine a world - a universe, no pun intended - where that didn't happen and continue to happen all the time,"Amell said, referring to the recent shared episode with The Flash.

"Arrow" is an ongoing series on the CW, Wednesdays at 8PM. Supergirl is set to launch on CBS this year.
