Johnny Depp and Amber Heard met on the set of “The Rum Diary” back in 2010 and reportedly began dating in 2012 after the “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor broke off a 14-year relationship with French singer Vanessa Paradis, according to TIME.
The 51-year-old actor and his 28-year-old bride reportedly tied the knot twice; once at Depp’s Los Angeles home and at the star’s private island, Little Hall’s Pond Cay in the Bahamas.
Depp’s two children, 15-year-old Lily Rose and 12-year-old son Jack, were reportedly at the wedding ceremony, according to Us Weekly.
“Johnny’s private island is a tropical paradise. Wedding guests were treated to an amazing weekend that ended with a romantic beach ceremony,” a source reportedly told People.
The insider added, “Guests relaxed on the beaches, had fun snorkeling and enjoyed food cooked by private chefs. Everyone seems to have the best time. It was a very celebratory vibe.”
Amber Heard reportedly got married in a traditional long-sleeved white wedding gown and floor length veil while Depp wore a white tuxedo jacket and black pants, according to the NY Daily News. Heard’s bridesmaids reportedly included her sister while Depp’s son played the role of groomsman.
Depp’s marriage to Heard has come as a surprise to some as the “Mortdecai” actor and Paradis had never married, despite being together for 14 years and sharing two children. Depp reportedly even named one of the beaches on the island after the singer.
Heard and Depp reportedly got engaged last January. The actor reportedly described his wife as “a Southern belle and sweet as can be, and very good for me,” during his appearance on NBC’s Today show.
We’re hoping divorce rumors won’t be following the couple as they often do with celebrity newlyweds. Although Heard has kept relatively silent on getting married to Depp, the father-of-two has been very vocal about his appreciation for his lady love.
“She is a free-thinker and an independent woman who makes her own decisions. Her presence has changed his life,” a source reportedly stated.
