Emma Watson recently confirmed that she would be taking on the role of Belle in the upcoming live-action “Beauty and the Beast.”
“Harry Potter” fans have since been pushing for Tom Felton, who played Draco Malfoy in the series, to be cast as Emma Watson’s Beast, according to the International Business Times.
Whether the important people involved in casting “Beauty and the Beast” will actually listen to the strong suggestions of the “Dramiones,” who are increasing in number, is still unclear.
Twitter users have reportedly even made movie posters for “Beauty and the Beast” with Tom Felton and Emma Watson on the cover, along with the hashtag “#TFeltonRoleTheBeast,” “#TomFeltonForBeast” and “#FeltonForTheBeast,” according to the website FashionNStyle.
“#Feltonforthebeast because OMG what would life be without #Dramione? what is life without #Feltson,” tweeted social media user Cassie.
Another Twitter user Allegra Giannini commented, “I’m more stressed about @TomFelton being the Beast than my midterms. Tom, please go for the Beast. You’re perfect for it. #FeltonForTheBeast.”
If Tom Felton does indeed get to play the role of Beast, it may work out perfectly, as Emma Watson used to have a crush on the actor long, long ago.
“Between the ages of 10 and 12 I had crush on Tom,” Watson had previously stated.
She added, “I used to go into work in the morning and look at the call sheet to see if he was going to be in every day.”
Aside from Felton, Harry Potter fans have also been pushing Daniel Radcliffe to take on the role of Beast as well, although they’re not pushing as hard as they are for Draco Malfoy.
The live-action “Beauty and the Beast” will reportedly be directed by “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” director Bill Condon.
