The all-female cast of "Ghostbusters 3" was finally revealed a few weeks ago when Paul Feig posted a photo collage of Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones on Twitter.
Even though the director didn't caption the photo, everyone assumed that these will be the women that will star in the reboot.
Paul Feig also revealed the release date of the movie after he posted the all-female cast photo.
"In other news, #Ghostbusters will be hitting theaters July 22, 2016. Save the date!" he wrote on Twitter.
Some fans were thrilled when they saw the list of actresses who will replace Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, and the late Harold Ramis.
However, there were also some avid "Ghostbusters" followers who aren't happy about the decision of creating a remake instead of a sequel. Despite the criticisms, the original cast showed their support for the new cast. Ernie Hudson, who bashed the idea several months ago, had finally given his approval on the all-female cast.
The actor who played Winston Zeddemore even shared the photo of these women on Twitter and captioned it, "Four fiercely funny, foxy, females busting ghosts ... phenomenal!"
However, we still haven't heard any confirmation from Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones, but their recent picture says it all.
Leslie Jones posted a photo of herself together with her "Ghostbusters 3" co-stars on Twitter. She captioned the image: "Ok I'm exhausted but this week was epic! #winning," the picture was taken during the Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary Show. We all know that these women became or are still part of the popular comedy series so there's already chemistry between them.
The 47-year old comedian also did a selfie spree with famous celebrities during the event, which included Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Beyonce, Kanye West, Will Ferrell, and "Ghostbusters" alumni Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd.
