Madonna took a major tumble in the midst of her much-hyped performance at Wednesday's 'Brit Awards' 2015 in London. Making the lyrics of her new single "Living For Love" a reality, the singer fell hard down a staircase and dropped her microphone. Madonna's big return to the 'Brit Awards' after a 20-year absence didn't go quite as smashingly as her fans may have hoped. While it is impossible to tell exactly went wrong, the singer flew backwards down a set of stairs at the beginning of her "Living For Love" performance as a dancer tugged at her cape.

If you're superstitious, then how about this bit of twisted irony: The brand new song contains the lyrics "Lifted me up and watched me stumble," as well as "Took me to heaven and let me fall down."

Due to either a wardrobe malfunction or a dancer that seriously messed up, Madonna was given a huge shock. The painful fall caused the legendary performer to miss several lyrics in the song after dropping her microphone.

Still, the superstar was a good sport despite the circumstances. Madonna picked up her microphone and continued performing despite the incident, although her voice appeared to be shaky at first.

While she recovered by the end of the "Brit Awards" 2015 performance, it was clear to see that Madonna's big return wasn't quite what she had planned.
