Jo In Sung's fans in China will have another opportunity to see him this week and that opportunity will take place on White Day. The actor will have a fan meeting on March 14 at the Shang Cheng Center in Shanghai.
The actor's 2014 fan meetings were very popular thanks to his appearance as the con man Oh Soo in the melodrama "That Winter The Wind Blows." In that drama his character tried to con an heiress, played by Song Hye Kyo, that he was her brother. But then he falls in love with her.
Since then he won new fans internationally because of his role as the schizophrenic mystery novelist Jang Jae Yeol in the 2015 drama "It's Okay It's Love." In that drama his character falls for Gong Hyo Jin, a psychiatrist.
"His first fan meet event in China last year was successful thanks to love and support from Chinese fans, and we decided to visit China again this year," said a March 12 press release issued by the actor's agency, IOK Company.
"This fan meeting was made possible by the fans that attended his fan meeting last year," said the release, which was published in the Kpop Herald.
What's the significance of holding the fan meeting on White Day? In Korea women traditionally give men gifts on Valentine's Day but on White Day men can reciprocate. Men can express their affection by giving women gifts. The holiday was first observed in Japan but is now also popular in Korea.
"Since the fan meet event will be held on White Day, we will make it different and special," said the press release.
