Facebook introduced a new way to look back at things shared and posts users have been tagged in on Facebook.

Social networking site, Facebook will celebrate your important memories automatically.

On Tuesday, March 24, Facebook launched "On This Day," a new feature to help users remember those special times. The feature takes anything from wedding anniversaries to birthdays logged on the site and notifies users of the special moments on a dedicated page on the site, via user's News Feed or via mobile app.

According to Mashable, Facebook has been testing the feature for many years, but this is its official launching after the company considered user feedback to develop the current iteration of the feature. Although there is no way to completely opt out of the feature on users' News Feed, however Facebook has firmly established that an algorithm will work to filter out likely unpleasant memories like posts from memorialised pages and from people users have broken up with.

Facebook product manager, Jonathan Gheller stated in a blog post that your OnThis Day page can only be seen by you.

Gheller explained giving an example - you might see past status updates, photos, posts from colleagues, family and friends besides other thing shared by a user or posts user been tagged in from one year ago, and so on.

How to access the feature

Users can simply click on the "On This Day" bookmark or visit facebook.com/onthisday

Alternatively, it can also pop up in the News Feed, Gheller noted.

Tech Times noted after getting the "On This Day" page up, user can set up notifications that will enable them to know when memories are hitting the page. In addition, users can also edit and delete the posts or share them once again.

The feature right now is in testing, according to the Facebook announcement.

It is not yet revealed when the feature is slated to rollout. However, one media report claims that within the next few days, it will show up on users' Facebook pages.
