Mariah Carey denies that she was dropped by her long-time publicist Cindi Berger, rather, she reportedly canned the publicist, according to TMZ.
The site had obtained a letter, which Carey claims she wrote to publicist Cindi Berger.
"I've done a lot of soul-searching this past year... and I found myself asking if I was truly employing a healthy perspective, (not to sound too Oprah about it all :). So I think it's time for us to take a break Cindi... I want to bring a fresh approach to this new phase in my career," Mariah wrote in the letter.
However, the said letter has reportedly not yet reached Cindi Berger's office, the office said it never received any letter. Furthermore, according to Billboard, Mariah Carey's publicist Cindi Berger confirmed on the morning of the April 8 that the decision to split was hers and Carey was notified on April 7.
"We've been through a lot together, and I care very deeply for her personally," said Berger. "But this was the right time."
Page Six wrote that the Co-chairman and CEO of PMK BNC, Cindi Berger, admitted that she is no longer working with Mariah Carey.
"I have enormous respect for Mariah. She is one of the great talents and voices of our time, and I wish her nothing but the best in her future endeavors," she was quoted as saying.
The 45-year-old singer has several upcoming projects. The site wrote that on May 6 that she begins a Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesar's Palace to perform 18 of her No. 1 hits in the act. Among the songs she will perform are "Visions of Love," "One Sweet Day," and "Touch My Body," among others.
It is also reported that Mariah is expected to have an album of her hits this year. Mariah Carey's next project is reportedly a Christmas movie in development with New Line Cinema.
